Research Lines

To fulfill the group's objectives, we have the following eight strategic macro-lines:

  1. Plant and regional ecology, including native plant diversity and vegetation dynamics.

  2. Anatomy, histochemistry, and plant biomineralizations, with emphasis on silicification processes and their role in biogeochemical cycles.

  3. Paleoecology and environmental reconstructions, through pollen and silicophytolith analyses.

  4. Soil ecology and soil–biota interactions, soil quality and degradation.

  5. Biodiversity and biological interaction networks, including plant–pollinator systems and aquatic communities.

  6. Invasive species, ecological restoration, and biodiversity conservation.

  7. Nature–Society Interactions.

  8. Biotechnological potential of native photosynthetic organisms.
