General Objective:
To understand the ecological and evolutionary patterns and processes responsible for the divergence and diversity of populations/species.
Specific Objectives:
-
To study the phylogeographic patterns (mitochondrial DNA) of invertebrate and vertebrate species from the Argentine coast.
-
To study population genetic structure using microsatellite loci, ISSRs, and geometric morphometrics.
-
To study reproductive, behavioral, and trophic aspects that may influence the distribution and abundance of the species under study.
-
To study anthropogenic factors affecting communities, such as fishing, tourism, chemical pollution, and species introduction.
