History
The Marine Invertebrate Biodiversity Research Group (OCA No. 605/11) was established in 2011, functioning under the Department of Biology and the Department of Marine Sciences of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. Its objective is to study the biodiversity of marine invertebrates from the Buenos Aires province region, North Patagonia, and the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic waters of the southwestern Atlantic. Although this group is relatively recent, it includes professors and researchers with extensive experience in the study of marine and estuarine invertebrates. It is an interdisciplinary group formed by specialists in different invertebrate groups, including foraminifera, ostracods, poriferans, cnidarians, polychaetes, mollusks, echinoderms, and crustaceans. Human resource training is provided by fellows, undergraduate and graduate thesis students, and interns who are also part of the group.
