Local organizing committee

In 2025, members of the research group were part of the Local Organizing Committee of the 40th Argentine Botanical Conference, which took place in the city of Mar del Plata from September 23 to 27 at the university campus facilities, with the endorsement of the FCEyN and UNMdP. A total of 744 papers were presented across 15 thematic areas, 10 symposia, and two satellite meetings held within the Conference (15th Symposium of the Argentine Phycology Association and Meeting of the Argentine Network of Botanical Gardens). There were a total of 712 registered participants and 632 attendees from different Argentine provinces and neighboring countries such as Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The presence of 6 distinguished lecturers in different disciplines of Botany, coming from various research institutes in our country, was also noteworthy. Additionally, 10 pre-conference workshops and courses, talks and workshops open to the community in museums and nurseries, and a field trip were organized.

Researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, and staff from governmental and non-governmental organizations had the opportunity to exchange and discuss the results of their research, education and/or management projects, as well as share new methodologies and techniques. The courses and workshops offered within the framework of the Conference covered a wide variety of topics and were taught not only by specialists directly related to botany, but also by other professionals, such as physicians, where the study and/or assessment resource were plants, giving the Conference a truly transdisciplinary imprint. The presence of colleagues from other regions of the country and from neighboring countries made it possible to form national and international networks on specific topics.
