General Objective:

To understand the ecological and evolutionary patterns and processes responsible for the divergence and diversity of populations/species.

Specific Objectives:

  1. To study the phylogeographic patterns (mitochondrial DNA) of invertebrate and vertebrate species from the Argentine coast.

  2. To study population genetic structure using microsatellite loci, ISSRs, and geometric morphometrics.

  3. To study reproductive, behavioral, and trophic aspects that may influence the distribution and abundance of the species under study.

  4. To study anthropogenic factors affecting communities, such as fishing, tourism, chemical pollution, and species introduction.
